Some basics about me: I am a small-town farm girl that grew up in a town called Independence located in Wisconsin. I had the "typical" kid mentality growing up - I wanted large-city excitement and adventure, the whole college experience, and I happily ended up in between at the University of Wisconsin - Stout (Menomonie, WI for those who don't know). After some growing pains and a few hurdles along the way, I finished my degree online. 

My first professional design job was working at Insty-Prints in Winona, MN (a lovely town if you get the chance to visit). After working for a year, I landed a design job in the Twin Cities for a multi-million dollar company and after 11 years in the Twin Cities, I decided to come back to small-town living.

Prospective - I did not see myself coming back to my childhood town - things definitely changed since the time I left to go to college; many small businesses have left or closed in the community, school class sizes have dropped, and the communities around me seem to be getting smaller and smaller (of course there are exceptions).  

 

I don't want to see my small town disappear - I see small business owners as the backbone of the U.S. economy. In fact, there are about 23 million businesses with fewer than 20 employees (statistics from 2021). Those are the businesses I want to help. Each small business deserves to have its voice heard and its services seen. Unfortunately, most of those small business owners can not afford to have a designer in-house or afford a freelancer. That is where I come in, to help those businesses with their marketing and any design needs that they may have by offering premium services without the price tag.

My #1 goal is to increase tourism to small communities by increasing small business visibility.

I believe in a small client base for a more personalized service; by providing premium services catering to their needs and voice.
